Neutron Guides
Glass-glass sandwich guide (patented)
- Patented design, principle and procedure for both free-standing and vacuum chamber construction
- Coated thin glass flattened on a special high-precision vacuum table and then fixed with a thick glass
- Provides better waviness (1-1.3·10-4 rad)
- Decreases neutron flux loss especially in long guides with small cross section deriving from float glass waviness (about 4·10-4 rad)
- Gives stability to a thin substrate
- Acts as additional shielding
Metal-glass sandwich guide
Developed to the requirements of Spallation sources for straight guides against the fast, epithermic and parasite neutrons.
- Patended design, principle and procedure for both free-standing and vacuum chamber construction
- Minimalized outer dimensions
- Equivalent to vacuum housing
- Metal or elastomer vacuum sealing between steel plates
- Eliminates fast/streaming neutrons
- 0.3 mm gap between glass and steel frame
- Additional gamma shielding can be applied easy and safe
- Easy and fast installation and replacement
In-pile guide
- With/without in-pile insert/casette
- Single/multi-channel casette
- Proven stability in high flux and heat
Shutter guide
- Movable device for shutting off the neutron flux
- Assembly of metal-glass guide and heavy steel shutter housing
- Operate in low/high pressure helium environment
- Both upstream and downstream sides bounded with neutron windows made of aluminium
- Minimum gap between guide and steel housing
- Alignment possibility inside the insert both upstream and downstream
Neutron Bender guide
- Multi - channel device
- Glass or wafer/Si lamella separator
- Both sides coated
- Long elements could be aligned to curvature
- Optionally metal-glass side plates
- Tapered option
- High (m) possible on both sides
Polished Neutron guide
- RMS surface roughness - 2.7Å
- High - reflectivity
Measured waviness results on assembled guide:
- The angle between two surfaces within a cone of a semi-angle: α < 10-4 rad
- RMS and maximum peek value: α < 3·10-5 rad
Particular Shape Neutron guides
- Transition between rectangular and octogonal beam shape
- For focusing or expansion guides
- Variable transformation and complete length
Splitter guide
- Custom design
- Inside vacuum housing or free-standing construction
- Independent alignment option for both guides
